What St. Mary's Publishes Today
St. Mary's County posts no daily arrest roundup. The closest official same-day view is the county's human-readable CAD Police feed, which runs on CAD Police RSS data. It lists dated incident descriptions and locations straight from current dispatch activity. Read it as dispatch, not bookings. The XML also exposes a build timestamp plus times on individual items. The county promises no fixed window or archive.
Dispatch is not booking. A traffic stop or assault report can land in CAD with no arrest made. The reverse happens too. An arrest record may reach the detention lookup late. That can happen only after the incident has dropped out of the shallow CAD view. Treat no CAD item as proof that a named person was booked.
Treat this page as a map to sources. It hosts no arrest feed of its own. Use CAD to see very recent police activity, then require a matching Sheriff's roster entry or direct DRC confirmation before concluding a booking occurred.
How to Check an Arrest From the Last 24 Hours
- Open the official CAD Police view and note the date, time, incident description, and location. Treat this only as an incident lead.
- Open the Sheriff's Incarcerated Individual Lookup. Search by first name, last name, or both. The interface offers no booking-date filter.
- Compare the displayed local ID, full name, age, race, sex, and booking date. A common-name match alone is not enough to identify a person.
- Open the charge control only to read recorded charges. Do not infer a conviction, final charge, bond decision, release, or court result.
- If a just-processed arrest is absent or a row seems stale, call the DRC at (301) 475-4200, extension 2200.
- For records and court follow-up, use the county recent-arrests hub. For several days of selected reporting, use the Weekly Arrest Log.
Each check answers a different question. CAD says police were dispatched somewhere. The roster ties a name to a local booking record, while Maryland Courts Case Search shows eligible court material later on, so none of the three can replace the others.
See the Official Arrest-Check Interfaces
The official readable CAD page provides the county's current incident-table format.

The date-and-description view is easy to spot. Still, it is not an arrest or admission list. The Sheriff's official incarcerated-individual lookup is the right interface for checking a name against the DRC roster.

A booking check starts on the official page shown, with no booking photographs copied or displayed here.
What the Daily Sources Actually Show
Neither official interface supplies a complete arrest narrative. Read only what the source labels.
| Source or field | Supported meaning and limit |
|---|---|
| CAD date, time, description, location | A dispatch item; it does not name a booked person or prove an arrest. |
| Roster ID and name | A local identifier and name; the ID is not labeled as a court case or state DOC number. |
| Age, race, and sex | Agency-supplied identifiers that can distinguish names but do not independently prove identity. |
| Booking date | The recorded booking date, not necessarily arrest time or present release status. |
| Charge(s) | Charges associated with the row; charges may change, be dismissed, or be resolved in court. |
| Mugshot | An official roster control observed for rows; it does not guarantee every booking has a public image. |
| Bond, court date, release date | Not observed as standard columns; use court or records channels rather than guessing. |
Why a New Arrest May Not Appear Yet
Booking takes time. Transport, intake, and data entry come first. St. Mary's publishes no roster refresh schedule, no measured booking lag, and no weekend posting promise. A CAD event often precedes a roster entry, yet no formula converts incident time into booking-post time.
Verify when timing matters. Call the DRC directly if safety, release, a court date, or current custody is at stake. A missing name proves nothing. Absence from a page does not rule out an arrest, and an older visible booking date does not prove current custody.
Recent entries sit beside booking dates reaching into 2023. That is an interface detail, not a retention policy. It also explains why apparent recency can never yield a defensible list of everyone arrested today.
SMCSO Alerts Are Not an Arrest Feed
The official SMCSO app listing covers anonymous tips, agency alerts, and Sheriff's web and social content. It promises no inmate-photo search. It offers no complete daily booking list either. Those are alert tools for residents, distinct from the DRC roster, and the SMCSO App Store source shows the current publisher and feature description.

An alert channel documents notices; it is not a basis to infer arrests from notifications or social posts.
When the Online Arrest Check Is Inconclusive
Call the DRC at (301) 475-4200, extension 2200. That line confirms local custody. Need a booking sheet, incident report, or photograph? Contact the Sheriff's Office of Professional Responsibility at extension 1903 or email smcso.opr@stmaryscountymd.gov. Provide the full name, approximate booking date, local ID if known, and the exact document requested. A Maryland Public Information Act request fits questions an informal check cannot settle. Then use VINELink Inmate Check for ongoing custody alerts.
Dates That Can Differ After an Arrest
Several legitimate dates can appear in one same-day check. The CAD item time reflects dispatch activity. An arrest time, if documented elsewhere, marks the officer's action. Booking marks intake into the local record. A first court appearance creates one more timestamp. So does an article's publication date. Those values need not share a calendar day, especially around midnight, transport, or processing delays.
Write the date and source beside each fact. Did something happen today? The CAD timestamp helps but cannot identify a booking. Did a particular person enter the DRC? The roster booking date and local ID matter more. For bond or final disposition, move to the commissioner or court record. This habit keeps a late article from reading as a new arrest and an old roster date from posing as today's custody update.
An Arrest Record Is Not a Conviction
Booking records move fast. A charge listed one day can look different the next week. Prosecutors can amend counts. Courts can drop a case entirely. For the current status, the circuit court clerk keeps the official file.
No booking photographs are re-published here. The site carries no mugshot gallery of any kind. It also operates as a public information resource, not a consumer reporting agency.
